Obituary

Grod Maria (nee Szypka) - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the age of 88. Our mother died peacefully in her sleep after a battle with cancer. Beloved wife for 67 years of Ivan Grod, predeceased by her brother Wasyl Szypka (wife Mary), predeceased by her son Wasyl (wife Nadia) and leaves behind her sons Jaroslaw (wife Olya) and Pavlo (wife Adrianna). Grandmother of Zoryana, Natalya, Olyana, Markian, Adrian, Roman, Danylo, Larysa and Olena; and great grandmother of Sofiya and Ameliya. Friends may pay their respects at the Cardinal Funeral home 92 Annette St. (at Keele St.) on Sunday September 10 from 6 - 9 p.m (Panakhyda at 7:00 p.m.). Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday September 11 at the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Holy Protection of the Mother of God (30 Leeds Ave. Toronto – near Ossington and Bloor), burial will follow at Parklawn Cemetery (Prince Edward and Bloor). Donations to the Ukrainian Canadian Congress in memory of our mother would be greatly appreciated.
