Obituary

Passed away all-too-soon at home, at the age of 61, on June 21, 2017, after a year-long struggle with cancer. Taisa was the daughter of the late Donna and Gregory Bezuhly, and will be sorely missed by her brother Walter (Rita), niece Elaine (Aleks), nephew Michael (Selene), great nieces Stella, Lily and Clara, and great nephew Mats. Taisa led a rich life, travelling through Europe, singing in her church choir, antiquing, and spending time at the farm or dacha. Never one to do the expected, after retiring two years ago she took up upholstery and furniture restoration. Taisa was a selfless and devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who will not be forgotten. Panachyda will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church, located at 23 Henry Street (just south of College). The Divine Liturgy and Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, June 24, 2017 starting at 9 a.m. at the church. Interment to follow at York Cemetery, 160 Beecroft Road (north of Sheppard Ave).

My deepest condolences to the family. Theresa Bezuhly is gone out of our lives! Now that the busy summer is over, I just telephoned. The line was disconnected. What a shock. May we all learn from her how to care, how to go the extra mile. Theresa worked with us in Employment Equity awhile. We were about 5-6 employees, a small section plopped into what used to be Labour Canada. Theresa ensured we knew what our new context was. She was one to have lunch with. After retirement, she would telephone to see how we were. I will miss her quick call this Christmas. I am so glad I went shopping with Theresa. I still have the turquoise night shirt from Keswick. Without her, I never would have known where the bargains were. May the sweet memories of Theresa Bezuhly overcome the pain of her loss. Jan

To the Bezuhly family: I was shocked to hear of Teresa's passing. She was a work colleague. We were both employees of the Labour program. She worked in Toronto; I in St. John's, NL. After her retirement, she would call to keep in touch,. I had no idea that she was so sick. She was always so positive and cheerful. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

We were friends for 40 years and always kept in touch even when I left Labour Canada and retired. I could always count on her for help and advice. Always! I and the many people who were privileged to be called her friend will never forget her. TB, my dear friend, may you rest in peace.

Theresa was a good and caring friend, and was interested in all people. I will have very fond memories of her while we worked together at Labour Canada, the Federal Government. She was very artistic and death took her too soon. Hope she rests in peace, and strength to the family. Mariana Grinblat, M.SC., M. Eng.
