Dear Monica, I was shocked this morning to see this obituary of Peter. My heart goes to you and your son. Peter was a great friend to and we had a lot fun working together. What happened to him at such young age? This is truly horrible and sad news. Praying for you and your family!

I was so very saddened to hear about Peter's passing. I worked with Peter in Ottawa in the early 2000s at the (then) Corporate Affairs and Planning Branch of HRSDC and developed a friendship with him very quickly - who wouldn't have... Peter was a wonderfully smart, funny and sensitive man. We shared many laughs and good times. My sincerest condolences to you Monica, to Peter's parents and to all those who will miss him. Warmest thoughts and best wishes to Gabriel.

I remember the day I met Peter. We both joined the National Secretariat on Homelessness in Ottawa on the same day in 2000. Those were the days of Camelot for those of us lucky enough to work on that file at that time. That's where Peter met Monica and where a strong carmeraderie was formed amongst all of us. Those were great times and I will always remember Peter from then. Passionate, dedicated and positive about the impact he could have. We will miss him tremendously. Deepest sympathies to all of his loved ones.

Peter was a wonderful person and It was a privilege to work and collaborate with him on common issues and ideas for the biggest cities in Canada. We've tried together to reinforce Toronto-Montréal friendship, always with a great enthousiasm. I'm so sad and I want you to know that we also shared at last BCMC meeting in Ottawa how much he was proud of his son Gabriel. Please receive my warm thoughts.

Dear Monica, Gabriel and extended family and friends, my heart goes out to you on your tragic loss. Peter was a wonderful colleague and friend, but more so, he was a genuinely warm and compassionate man who always had a smile and time for a chat about family, upcoming vacations and weekend plans. It was a privilege to have had the opportunity to work closely with him as a colleague in the City Manager's Office. Watching him walk hand in hand with Gabriel through the City Hall rotunda after picking him up from daycare is one of my fondest memories of Peter and one I will always cherish. My sincere condolences to all of you.

I am so sorry and shocked to hear of Peter's sudden passing. I am a solicitor with City Legal and had the pleasure of working with Peter on a number of files, including various files related to transit expansion in the City. Peter was wonderful to work with; he was always extremely professional but very personable and easy to get along with. While we discussed many legal and policy issues we also found time to discuss our children and my best memories of Peter was discussing his family. I can't imagine how difficult this sudden loss must be for Peter's wife, son, and other family members. My heart goes out to you all, and you truly have my deepest sympathies. While I very much wish I could be there for the service, I am currently on vacation out of province so it's unlikely that I will. However, I hope you know how much Peter will be missed by all his colleagues at the City.

Words escape me. Sadness overcame me when heard of Peter's death. He was one of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of working with. As so many have already said, Peter was one of the finest public servants ever, straight up, professional, respectful, humble and without guile. It was a privilege to have worked with him. During my brief tenure as a City Councillor we joked about me being his councillor. But it was my first hand experience with him in the City Manager's office which showed what a talent he was. Monica and Gabriel, parents and siblings - you must have your gut wrenched to have lost such an amazing person from your family. Please accept my most sincere condolences.

Dear Monica and Gabriel I can't begin to imagine how difficult Peter's passing must be for you both. I worked at the City in several roles where I had the privilege of working with Peter. His wisdom and judgment were exemplary and any one who worked with him benefitted from his quiet strength. My favourite memory of him, however, was watching him bring Gabriel into City Hall each morning to go to day care. The love they shared made each morning a joy to watch. My prayers are with you both. He accomplished much to be proud of. I will not forget our personable chats. My condolences to the Notaro family and friends in this time of loss.

I hope Monica and Gabriel and the entire family find comfort in each other and many fond memories, especially during these very difficult days.
