Obituary

Robert Keir Weeks, born January 29, 1960 in St. John's Newfoundland passed away early morning Monday June 17, 2024 after a brief but intense battle with Cancer. Son of sailor, Keir Weeks and mother, Chris. Survived by wife Isabelle Weeks and sister Christine(John), nephew Jackson Keir and niece Emily..

Robert moved to Toronto in the 1980;s where he Studied Photography and Film at Ryerson Polytechnic Institute, during which he contributed the opening car in space sequence in the movie Heavy Metal. Robert went on to become a renowned Chef and managed kitchens for for many years in Toronto including The Epicure Cafe, Maraposa Cruise lines, The Red Lion, The Unicorn and even managed a cafeteria at the OPP headquarters in the early 1990's as well as an imaginary restaurant called Noodles and Jones so he and his “staff” could enjoy free booze and swag at trade shows. Although retired for the past few years, Robert had been an active member of his community working with the City of Toronto establishing community gardens in Parkdale, had an active Informative website called The Parkdale Gardener and has been immortalized with his picture on a planter on Jamison Avenue recognizing his community involvement. Robert had many jobs and careers in which he always exceeded above and beyond expectations, always ending up in a managing position; from Restaurant management to dye-house operation, to packaging and warehousing, to ceramics and building construction, Robert was truly a “jack of all trades - master of all”. His knowledge of computers, animation, digital imagery and AI was surpassed by few.

Robert loved live Music and Formula 1 racing; he would rarely miss a race no matter what time it came on.

His brilliance and kindness will be lovingly cherished and missed by all who were fortunate to know Robert.
