Obituary

At peace, Ethel Elizabeth Whittle (nee Baptist) passed on, surrounded by family, and in the thoughts of family and friends near and far on October 3, 2017.  Born on September 25, 1924 in Star City, Saskatchewan.  She was a practical person, with a creative spirit, who was always creating for the benefit of her children, from simple dish cloths to elaborate wedding gowns, and beautiful works of art.  Her hands were rarely still. She is deeply missed by her children: Patricia Ann, Richard James (Stella), Sandra Leah (Paul Szczucinski) and Sherry Elizabeth Cardoso (Tony).  She will always be in the hearts of her grandchildren Riley James, Christopher James, Nathan Joseph and Matthew James. She is predeceased by her husband Jim, and her siblings:  Coral, Harold, Kathleen, Clifford, Dorothy, Ronald, Elsie, Thelma and Ken.  She is survived by Beatrice (Fred Shipley), Clarence, Ross and Jean Hawrychuk Visitation and a short service will take place on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the Cardinal Funeral Home at 366 Bathurst St. (just north of Dundas) between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. She will be cremated and interred at Prospect Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Palliative Care Unit at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Toronto, would be appreciated.
