Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Michael Masliwec on July 25th 2017 at St. Michaels Hospital in Toronto. He was surrounded by his family as he passed in his 90th year. The family wishes to thank all the staff at the Cardiac Care Unit for their exemplary care and compassion throughout his stay. Loved husband of the late Pauline (Hubenko) for over 60 years. Survived by children Peter, Michael (Teresa), Andrew ( Maria) and Paul (Lisa). He will also be missed by his grandchildren Michael, Stefanie, Jack, Adriana and Kate. Michael came to Canada alone as an 18 year old in 1945. He then was able to help his mother, father and brother immigrate to Canada. Soon after, he met Pauline and then started his own family in 1952. For most of his life he lived in High Park and worked at Northern Telecom until his retirement in 1990. He was an active and proud member of UNO, UNF and St. Volodymr's Cathedral in Toronto. However, he was most happy and proud when called Tato or Didi, he will be deeply missed.
