É com grande pesar e tristeza, que recebi a notícia do falecimento do grande amigo Sr. Mariano, estimado na sua freguesia de origem, em Toronto, e por todos que o conheciam.
As minhas sentidas e profundas condolências à Sr.ª Machado, filhos, e restante família. Que Deus lhe dê o eterno descanso, e ao Céu à sua alma, assim forças e paciência à família nestes momentos difíceis.
Sempre que ele cruzar o meu pensamento, direi uma oração pela sua alma.

I am very sorry to hear about the loss of my cousin Mariano.
So sad I did not have a chance to talk with this cousin, the last son of grandfather´s brother.

We have lost a great man. His absence will affect us all in our day to day lives. Mariano’s generosity was second to none, and his heart was the greatest I had ever seen. His determination was the only kind around, and the word QUIT was non existent.
My deepest most heartfelt condolences go out to Natalia, Linda and Rui, they lost a husband and father.
I lost a great friend, one that will always be irreplaceable forever.
